नरक से मुक्ति

एतैर्विमुक्तः कौन्तेय तमोद्वारैस्त्रिभि र्नरः। 

आचरत्यात्मनः श्रेयस्ततो याति परां गतिम्।।

हे कुन्तीपुत्र ! जो व्यक्ति इन तीनों नरक - द्वारों से बच पाता है , वह आत्म - साक्षात्कार के लिये कल्याणकारी कार्य करता है और इस प्रकार क्रमशः परम गति को प्राप्त होता है। 

नरक के तीन द्वार

इस नरक के तीन द्वार हैं - काम, क्रोध तथा लोभ . प्रत्येक बुद्धिमान व्यक्ति को चाहिए कि  इन्हें त्याग दे, क्योंकि इनसे आत्मा का पतन होता है.

kÀmaÏ krodhas tathÀ lobhas tasmÀd etat trayaÎ tyajet |

The beginning of demoniac life is described herein. One tries to satisfy his lust, and when he cannot, anger and greed arise. A sane man who does not want to glide down to the species of demoniac life must try to give up these three enemies which can kill the self to such an extent that there will be no possibility of liberation from this material entanglement.
